MEGA VPAK FILTER

The Mega VPak Filter is a compact V-type rigid filter for HVAC systems, designed for low pressure drop and long service life. Using micro glass fibre or synthetic media, it offers efficiency from ePM10 60% to ePM1 80% (MERV 10–15). Built in a durable ABS frame, it handles high humidity and operates up to 80°C with reliable performance.

Advantages

The Mega VPak Filter is engineered around the core advantage of the V-type extended surface rigid cell format — maximising effective media area within a compact 12″ depth to deliver a low initial pressure drop that directly extends filter service life in HVAC AHU applications. By increasing media area relative to the frame face, the V-type geometry distributes airflow and particulate load across a significantly greater surface than a flat or box filter of equivalent footprint, reducing face velocity and slowing the rate of pressure drop increase over time. The choice of micro glass fibre or synthetic media enables the correct media specification for the operating environment, while thermoplastic hotmelt bead separators maintain consistent media pleat spacing across the full V-pack depth under all operating conditions. Two-component polyurethane media frame bonding provides an airtight, structurally durable seal between the media pack and the ABS plastic frame, ensuring that rated filtration efficiency is maintained with no bypass leakage throughout the service life. The continuous polyurethane gasket on one or both sides of the frame creates a reliable perimeter seal against the AHU housing, critical for maintaining filter integrity in medium and fine efficiency applications where peripheral leakage would compromise downstream air quality. A recommended maximum operating velocity of 3.75 m/sec provides a clear design parameter for system sizing, ensuring the filter operates within its rated efficiency envelope. A recommended final pressure drop of 2.0″ Wg and a maximum pressure drop limit of 2.5″ Wg give maintenance teams clear and unambiguous change-out criteria. UL 900 classified media and triple standard compliance across ISO 16890, EN 779: 2012, and ASHRAE 52.2: 2017 complete a product specification suited to demanding long-life HVAC filtration applications.
