By removing the mesh entirely, the filter achieves a cleaner vee pleat geometry that maximises effective media surface area within the 2″ or 4″ depth, directly contributing to the lower initial pressure drop that sets it apart for AHU and air intake applications. The rigid self-supporting structure maintains pleat spacing under operating airflow without mechanical assistance, preventing the media collapse and channelling that reduce efficiency in unsupported designs. Polyester media tolerates 100% relative humidity without dimensional change, moisture absorption, or efficiency degradation — conditions that deteriorate glass fibre and cellulose-based alternatives. The availability of both washable and disposable configurations means the Ecopleat can be specified for installations prioritising reusability and reduced consumable waste, or for critical environments where single-use disposal is the required practice. A broad frame material choice — plastic, cardboard, G.I., stainless steel, or aluminium — allows the correct structural and corrosion resistance specification to be matched to the installation environment, from lightweight residential intake applications to corrosive industrial air handling systems. Compliance with ISO 16890, EN 779: 2012, and ASHRAE 52.2: 2017 at G4 / MERV 8 / ISO Coarse 65% ensures the filter satisfies coarse pre-filtration requirements under any of the three international standards without the need for separate product variants.
