CARBO COMBO UNIT

The Carbo Combo Unit is a carbon cartridge system for high-efficiency odour and gas removal in critical applications. Using granulated carbon and KMnO₄ media, it effectively targets VOCs and harmful gases. Designed with cylindrical filters in a durable metal frame, it delivers reliable performance under controlled temperature and humidity conditions.

Advantages

The Carbo Combo Unit is engineered for the most demanding gas-phase filtration requirements — very high odour removal and precise target gas control in critical applications such as the microelectronic industry, where molecular contamination at trace concentrations can directly affect process yields and product quality. The cylindrical cartridge format maximises the granular media volume that can be deployed within a compact holding frame of 2.75″ (70 mm) depth, delivering a high media bed depth of 18″ or 24″ per cartridge that provides the extended residence time required for efficient adsorption of VOCs, SO₂, NO₂, NOₓ, amines, and aldehydes. The combination of granulated carbon and KMnO₄ within the cartridge fill targets both organic molecular contaminants through adsorption and reactive inorganic gases through chemisorption — a dual removal mechanism that single-media carbon filters cannot replicate. The bayonet mounting frame design provides a secure, repeatable cartridge-to-frame connection that ensures consistent seating and prevents bypass of unfiltered air around the cartridge body during operation, which is critical in microelectronic and other cleanroom applications where any uncontrolled molecular ingress is unacceptable. The availability of activated carbon, chemically impregnated carbon, activated alumina, and blended granular media options allows the cartridge fill to be specified precisely for the target contaminants present in the airstream. Galvanised steel and stainless steel frame options ensure compatibility with both standard and corrosion-sensitive critical process environments, completing a gas-phase filtration assembly designed for high-performance, long-service molecular contamination control.
