APDS – GELSEAL

The APDS GelSeal is a compact mini-pleated filter for terminal laminar flow applications in clean rooms and critical environments. Available in H13 and H14 grades, it uses micro glass fibre or ePTFE media for high-efficiency particle capture. Its GelSeal system ensures a zero-bypass seal, and each unit is individually tested to EN 1822 and IEST standards for reliable performance.

Advantages

The APDS GelSeal addresses the most critical failure point in terminal filtration — peripheral bypass — through its GelSeal gasket system. Unlike conventional foam or neoprene gaskets that rely on compressive force to seal, the gel channel creates a continuous liquid seal against compatible knife-edge housing frames, delivering a verified zero-leak perimeter regardless of minor surface irregularities or installation tolerances. This makes it the specification of choice for ISO Class 5 and above environments where any unfiltered air infiltration around the filter face is unacceptable. The minipleat construction with hotmelt bead separators maximises media surface area within the compact panel format, achieving H13 and H14 efficiencies at a controlled pressure drop with a recommended final pressure drop of 2″ Wg. The option of ePTFE media extends service life and filtration reliability in humid or chemically aggressive process environments. Two-component polyurethane bonding between the media pack and frame ensures structural integrity and airtight media seating across the full operating range of 80°C continuous temperature and 90% relative humidity. Compressed metal mesh face guards finished in RAL 9010, available on both sides, provide physical media protection without impeding laminar airflow distribution. With individual unit testing to EN 1822 and IEST-RP-CC001.3 and UL 900 classified media, every filter supplied carries the documented performance traceability required for pharmaceutical validation, semiconductor qualification, and nuclear regulatory compliance.
